Terms of Service
The terms for using the Knit public beta.Version 2 · Effective September 24, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern access to Knit, a hosted knowledge-base service operated by Threadlabs Studio and currently offered as a beta. By creating or using a workspace, you agree to them and confirm that you have authority to do so for your organization.
2. Accounts and workspaces
- A Google account is required for Release 1 authentication.
- You are responsible for the activity performed through your account and for keeping access to that Google account secure.
- Workspace creators are responsible for the content placed in their workspace and for ensuring they have the right to use it.
- Do not use Knit if you are under 13 or otherwise unable to enter a binding agreement in your location.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Knit to break the law; infringe another person’s rights; distribute malware; probe or disrupt the service; evade access controls; impersonate another person; or upload content that creates a material security, privacy, or safety risk. Knit may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal obligations.
Plan allowances, including unlimited workspaces, are for your team’s own knowledge. They are not for automated bulk storage, reselling the service, or loads far beyond ordinary team use. If a workspace’s use falls outside this, Knit will contact you and look for a reasonable solution before limiting it.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant the Knit operator a limited licence to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. Knit does not receive a licence to sell workspace content or use it for advertising.
5. Public beta
Knit is a beta service. Features may change, service interruptions may occur, and no uptime commitment is offered in Release 1. Keep independent copies of information that is critical to you. Material changes that reduce the service will receive reasonable notice when practical.
6. Ending use
You may stop using Knit at any time. Workspace administrators can delete a workspace from Settings. Knit may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, a security threat, or a legal requirement. The Privacy Policy describes handling of personal information and deletion.
7. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Knit is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Threadlabs Studio does not exclude any warranty or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Threadlabs Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity. Its total liability arising from Knit is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Knit during the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or liability that the law does not permit us to limit.
You are responsible for claims arising from content you submit or a deliberate breach of these terms, but only to the extent caused by your conduct and permitted by law.
8. Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, please send the details through the private contact form and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to rights that cannot be waived, proceedings must be brought in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
9. Contact and changes
Contact Threadlabs Studio for support. If these terms materially change, Knit will update the effective date and provide notice appropriate to the change.
