Writing

Page editor

Write visually, use the slash menu, or type Markdown shortcuts. Add headings, lists, checklists, tables, callouts, images, and code.

Read the editor guide

Formatted paste

Paste from another document, or paste Markdown or HTML source. Knit turns it into editable headings, lists, tables, and code, so you can keep writing without rebuilding the formatting.

Shared writing guides

Planned

Keep your team’s audience, tone, and preferred wording in a guide for the site or a workspace. Give connected assistants that context without repeating it in every prompt.

Freshness checks and reminders

Planned

Human review is available today. Next, confirm a published page is still current without editing it, or while approving changes, and choose when to check again.

Planned

Connect the assistant your team already uses to find published knowledge and propose changes for review.

Reading and review

Know where a page stands.

Looked after by tells you who cares for a page, separately from who created it. Early, On track, and Stable tell readers how settled the team considers it. A published page can still be Early; a Stable page can have a new draft waiting for review.

Review panels show the actual changes in context. On every plan, a teammate can approve the exact draft they checked; later edits need another review. History separates who edited, published, and approved. When an assistant contributes through Knit’s tracked connection, its contribution is recorded too.

These signals help you judge what you’re reading. A stage or an assistant label doesn’t mean someone has checked that every fact is still right.

The direction

Where we’re taking Knit.

Bulk review brings draft changes together in Home. See what changed across pages, inspect the actual edits, and publish or approve eligible work without losing your place.

Shared writing guides are planned, so the team’s context stays handy while you write. We’re also testing summaries that bring a whole section together, so you can get the overview before digging into individual pages. Those aren’t available in the public beta yet. Descriptions of the tone already in your pages stay separate from the writing rules you choose.

The aim is less to configure and less to maintain, so everyone can contribute without becoming an expert in the tool.

Questions

Before you ask for access.

Teams starting a shared home for their docs, or finding that keeping their current wiki useful has become a job of its own. You can start on your own and invite people as you go.

The beta is free, with no credit card needed. Final paid prices haven’t been published. You’re never charged automatically, and beta members will hear about changes before paid plans begin.

Request access using the link above. We’re keeping the first cohort small and will get in touch after reviewing your request.

Yes. Knit uses Google to sign in during the beta. If you are invited, use the same email you requested access with.
