Page history
See every published version of a page, compare it with today, and restore it.Every time a page is published, Knit keeps that version: who edited it and when. If someone approved those exact changes, their name appears separately on the version. The editor stays credited when someone else approves and publishes. You can compare any earlier version with the current page and restore it.
The first published version uses Created by; later versions use Edited by. When an assistant writes a draft, history says “Created by your assistant” or “Edited by your assistant”. If you also change that draft's title, content or icon, it credits “you & your assistant”. Prompting, publishing and approval alone do not count as editing. Human-only work credits you. Other people see your name without assistant details. Publishing and approval credits stay separate. New publications show the editing date beside the attribution; older versions without a recorded editing date omit it. Later manual edits keep the recorded contribution; a contribution does not claim the assistant wrote every remaining passage. Older work without recorded evidence is not labelled as assistant work.
Open history
On a page, open the ⋯ menu (Page actions) and select Version history. Each entry shows its number, what happened (such as Created, Published, or Restored), the date, and who made it. The one you're looking at now is marked Current version. Select Load more versions to go further back. The current marker follows newly published changes, including approvals, while history is open.
Version history for a page with four versions. Version 4 is the Current version; the others each have Compare.
Compare with an earlier version
Select Compare next to a version. Knit shows If you restore version followed by its number: exactly what restoring it would change on the current page, with text that would be removed and added.
Expandable sections keep their titles and content in comparisons. Open a collapsed section to inspect its contents.
If you restore version 3: the departure time and who carries the rations would change, with the removed words struck through and the new ones highlighted. Below, Keep current version and Restore version 3.
Select Back to versions to look at another one.
Restore
After comparing, choose one:
- Restore version and its number: the page goes back to that version, and Knit records the restore as a new version. Nothing in between is lost; it's all still in history.
- Keep current version: leave the page as it is.
If the page has unpublished changes, publish or revert them first. See Publish a page.
People who can only view the page can compare versions but can't restore them.
Bring back only some changes
On every plan, you can restore part of an earlier version:
- After comparing, select Keep only some changes….
- Select Review individual changes….
- Untick the changes you don't want, then select Apply selected changes.
Knit applies only the changes you kept and records a new version.
