Formats and size
Knit accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and SVG images up to 5 MB each.
Knit prepares photos for the web as they upload: very large photos are scaled down to at most 2560 pixels on their longest side, and hidden details stored in the file, such as camera information, are removed. Animated GIFs keep their animation.
If an upload fails, Knit shows Couldn’t upload image. Select Retry to try again.
Edit an image
Click or tap an image to select it. Drag a corner to resize it while keeping its proportions. The size changes as you drag and saves when you release. Press Escape during a drag to cancel, or use Undo after resizing.
You can also focus a corner handle and use arrow keys to resize; hold Shift for larger steps. The image toolbar lets you center the image, wrap text beside it, edit its description, or delete it. Wrapped images stack at full width on small viewports.
View an image full size
Double-click an image to open it in a larger viewer. If you can only read the page, a single click or focusing the image and pressing Enter is enough.
