Search

Find any page by its title, text, or tags, from anywhere in Knit.

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux), or select the search icon (Search (⌘K)) at the top of the screen.

A search for Mordor, with two matching pages and the folder each one is in.

Type at least two characters. Knit searches the titles, text, and attached tags of published pages and highlights the words that match.

  • Use ↑ and ↓ to move through the results, Enter to open one, and Esc to close.
  • Pages in Trash aren't searchable.

Search finds published pages only. A draft that hasn't been published yet won't show up until you publish it.

Recent searches

When the search box is empty, Knit shows your recent searches. Select one to run it again, remove one with its ✕, or select Clear all.

Across workspaces

On a site with more than one workspace, search covers every workspace you can open, and each result says which workspace it's in. Typing a workspace's name also offers the workspace itself, so you can jump straight to it.

Matching titles and tags

Search matches page titles, page text, and attached tag names. You can paste a query or type part of a title, such as “Inventor” to find “Inventory.” Title matches appear before tag and page-text matches. Renaming or removing a tag updates what search can find.

If a search fails, Knit shows an error. Edit the query to try again.

Other ways to find pages

  • Select a tag to see every page with that tag. See Tags.
  • Open Pages in the sidebar for pinned shortcuts and the full page tree.
  • For you under Home gathers your drafts, reviews, possible page issues, and recent publishes. Activity shows the longer publish history.

Home keeps its breadcrumbs and search at the top as you scroll. Trash, Connections, and Settings keep their titles there.
